Any courses dropped during the winter session will impact the total number of hours taken between the winter session and spring 2023. If a student has three floating credits and takes a four-credit class in winter, they will pay for just one credit. For example, if a student takes 12 credits in fall, they will have six credit hours left to use in winter or summer. The maximum number of course credits spread across the fall-winter-summer terms covered by this provision is 18. In addition, this year, undergraduate students have the option to “float” up to six credits from the fall semester to 2021 Winter Session at no additional cost. Winter Rates and "Floating Credit" OptionĪlthough Winter Session tuition is not covered by the SEED Scholarship, AAP winter courses are offered at one-third the cost of main-campus tuition for AAP students. Special-session courses are an integral part of the AAP's commitment to helping students "Finish in Two," ensuring their timely transition to Newark while encouraging a healthy balance between their academic and personal lives. Students often make use of Winter Session to explore a new interest or to increase their chances of success in a particularly challenging course. Additionally, for AAP students who struggle to balance work and other obligations with their regular-semester course loads, a winter course can make all the difference by reducing academic pressure during the fall and spring. Winter courses afford AAP students the opportunity to fulfill needed breadth requirements and make progress toward their degree.
